The Southwestern boundary of park is extended into the big lake. About forty five hectares of park's land lies between fenced boundary and actual boundary, which was demarcated by the concrete pillars.

  9. Retaining natural instinct of animals
Van Vihar is a unique protected area in the country, which enjoys the status of a Zoo as well as National Park. Here, the animals have freedom of semi wild conditions and also enjoy the inputs of captive management. This is the special feature of Van Vihar, which differentiates it with other Zoos. The big enclosures provide near natural condition to the carnivores, even to hunt. Apart from other carnivores, "Rini" the white tigress that was born and brought up in captive conditions has mastered the art and skills of an expert hunter. She kills and consumes prey very skillfully like a normal wild tiger roaming in the wild.

  10. Treatment of Hyena
A hyena was captured near Narsingarh town in severely injured condition with multiple fractures in limbs and jaw. Looking to its condition there was no hope for its survival and even the authorities were thinking to seek permission for its mercy killing. It was brought to Van Vihar and treated successfully. Now it is living a normal healthy life
